Eligibility for A Level Enrty

For students to be eligible for entrance examination, they must meet the following criteria:
  • Must have passed the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) or equivalent examination with minimum of 50 percent marks in the Send-Up or equivalent examination.
  • Must enclose attested copies of the following certificates:
  1. Mark sheet of Grade X - Send-Up examination.
  2. Certificates of awards or scholarships earned at school, if any.
  3. Two recently taken passport size coloured photographs.
  4. Two recommendation letters 1.  from the Principal and 2.  from a Teacher who taught you in the secondary level.
  • Students wishing to enroll in Science stream should have obtained at least 60 percent marks in Science, Compulsory Mathematics and Additional Mathematics in the Send-Up examination, and for Non-science, students should have scored at least 50 percent marks in the Send-Up examination in aggregate to appear for the entrance examination.
  • Students must fill in the application form, and submit it in the due course of time.
  • If the application form is complete as per the criteria mentioned, the candidate will be called for a written examination. The entrance examination will be held as follows:

    One and half hours

  • Questions for the written examination consist of multiple choice questions and structure-based questions in the case of English paper.
  • The questions will be based on the secondary level curriculum.
  • Only the selected candidates from the entrance examination will be called for an interview.
  • Students must be accompanied by their parents/ guardians during the interview; no students will be interviewed if they fail to bring their parents/ guardians.
  • The final selection of candidates will be made only after their interview.
  • An attested copy of the mark sheet of the SLC along with the character certificate must be submitted to the office within a week's time from the date of the publication of the result.
